Background: Turkish Premier Minister SULEYMAN DEMIREL, who visited Bulgaria on an official invitation by Bulgarian Premier Minister TODOR JHIVKOV visited the second biggest Bulgarian city-Plovdiv on the 5th day of his tour in Bulgaria.
Premier DEMIREL was accompanied by Bulgarian vice-President of the council of Ministers PETER TANTCHEV, Bulgarian Minster for Foreign Affairs IVAN BASHEV and other Bulgarian officials.
At the airport Premier DEMIREL & his wife, as well as the Turkish Minster for Foreign Affairs IHSAN SABRY TOCHAGLIYANGIL & Minister for Energy & Natural Resources SABIT AVDJI and other members of the Turkish delegation were welcomed by the President of the Plovdiv National Council Mr DIMITER KARAMOUKOV.
At the Plovdiv City Council the honoured guests were shown the famous golden treasure, weighing 11 kilograms of pure gold, found in Bulgaria several years ago and known the world over by expert archaeologist as the "PANAGYOURI-SHTE TREASURE".

Yesterday, (October the 7th) was third day of Premier DEMIREL's official visit to this country, on an invitation by Bulgarian Premier TODOR JHIVKOV.
On Varna airport Premier DEMIREL & his wife & the accompanying Turkish officials were welcomed by Varna Mayor CHRISTO TRENDAFILOV. The high guests were accompanied on this trip by PETAR TANCHEV, vice-president of the Council of Ministers, IVAN BASHEV, Minister for Foreign Affairs & other Bulgarian officials.
At the beautiful Black sea resort city Premier DEMIREL visited first the biggest electric power station in Bulgaria-the Varna thermoelectric station, producing 630 megawatts.
They followed the visit the so called "POBITI KAMUNY" (nailed stones), a peculiar area near Varna, where Nature had made one of its most original gags-due to erosion and other geophysical phenomena, this stones have really very interesting and picturesque shapes.
In the afternoon the delegation visited the "GEORGE DIMITROV" dockyards, where are being built many ships on foreign commands, some of them up to 23,500 tons.

On the 5th of October, the Premier Minister of Turkey SUL YMAN DEMIREL arrived at Sofia airport on official visit, by an invitation of the Bulgarian Premier Todor Jhivkov. Mr DEMIREL was accompanied by his wife, the Minister for Foreign Affairs SABNY CHALUYANGIL, the Minister for Energy SABIT AVDJI senators and MPs and other responsible Turkish officials. At the airport he was met by Premier JHIVKOV & his wife, Dr. MALA MALDEVA-JHIVKOVA, the Minister for foreign affairs IVAN BASHEV, many other ministers generals.
Later Premier Minister DEMIREL visited the President of the National Assembly's Praesidium GEORGE TRAYKOV at the conference hall of the National Assembly's building. There was present Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey IHSAN SABRI CHAGLUYANGHIL, Minister SABIT AVDJI, Turkish Ambassador in Sofia NEJAT ERTUSON & others, & from the Bulgarian side the Vice-President of the National Assembly Petar Tanchev, the Secretary of the National Assembly's Praesidium MINTOHO MINTCHLV, Minister for Foreign Affairs IVAN BASHEV, Bulgarian Ambassador in ANKARA MARTIN VATCHKOV.
After that Premier DEMIREL and the rest of the Turkish official delegation visited the Bulgarian Premier Minister TODOR JHIVKOV at the Council of Minsters. There took place friendly talks. The atmosphere of the meeting was cordial and friendly.
When entering and coming out from the Ministerial Council's quarters, Premier DEMIREL was warmly and heartily greeted by the people.
On the evening Premier JHIVKOV & his wife gave official dinner in honour of the guest Premier DEMIREL. There were present the same personalities, mentioned above.
At the dinner Premier JHIVKOV & PREMIER DEMIREL delivered speeches & raised toasts, expressing hopes, that the already existing friendly neighbour relations between the two countries will continue to improve.
TURKISH PRESIDENT DEMIREL VISITED RESORT COMPLEX "GOLDEN SANDS".
The Premier Minster of Turkey SULEYMAN DEMIREL visited the Bulgarian resort complex "the GOLDEN SANDS" on the fourth day of his official visit in Bulgaria. He was accompanied by his wife, and many Turkish high officials and he did not want to miss the opportunity of attending the famous Black sea resort being in Varna, only 18 kilometres away.
The Turkish Premier Minister showed great interest in the rapid development of international tourism in Bulgaria and stated, that there exists a special interest of mutual profit between Bulgaria & Turkey for establishing narrow contact on the matter of international tourism, being good and friendly neighbour.
The honoured guests visited the night club "VODENITZATA" (THE MILL), reputed for its folkloric decoration.

On october 7th in Sofia were held official negotiations between algerian and turkish government delegations led by Todor Zhivkov, Bulgarian Prime-minister and Suleemen Demirel minister of Republic of Turkey. Members of delegations were the ministers of foreign affairs of Bulgaria - Ivan Bashev and of Turkey - Sahri. The negotiations passed in a sprit of mutual understanding.
