His Excellency President Hauari Boumedienne of Algeria arrived here in Kuwait this morning from Baghdad on a short visit which lasted five hours.
His Excellency President Hauari Boumedienne of Algeria arrived here in Kuwait this morning from Baghdad on a short visit which lasted five hours. President Boumedienne was accorded an official reception at the airport in which His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah As-Salem As-Sabah took part. Other participants in the reception were His Highness Kuwait's Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad, Ministers, Speaker of the National Assembly and other high Government officials.
A squadron of the Kuwait Air-Force accompanied the Algerian President plane at it entered the Kuwaiti air-space, and a twenty-one gun salute was sounded to greet him, while he stepped down from plane. Having been greeted by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, and the usual introductions made, the two heads of states then, proceeded to the stand od honour and stood in attention while the two National anthems were played. the guest then reviewed a guard of honour and shook hand with other high dignitaries who were at the airport to greet him.
After a short rest a the VIP launge, the motorcade of His Highness the Amir and his guest proceeded to As-Salam Palace where official talks immediately started. The talks were attended by Kuwait's Crown Prince and Prime Minister and the official delegation which accompanied the Algerian President. The delegation included among others member of the Revolutionary Cou cil and foreign minister Abdul Aziz Bow-taflika. Our correspondent learnt that the talks dealt with cuurent Arab event. President Boumedienne left Kuwait in thenfternoon.
