  • Description

At Cherbourg in France on Wednesday (21 December), a fourth torpedo boat was launched for the Greek Navy.

She's the "Navsithoi"--launched by Mrs. Margaritis, wife of the Greek Navy Chief of staff.

The Navsithoi has a speed of 42 knots--and carries modern armaments including missiles and anti-aircraft weapons.

The occasion was doubly notable as it was the first time television cameras had been invited to the shipyard of "Les Construction Mecaniques de Normandie" since Christmas 1969.

At the time patrol boats built for the Israeli Navy were spirited away--despite a ban placed on their delivery by the French Government.
