    The Argentine General Confederation of Workers on Friday held its first major political rally since President Agustin Lanusse took power last March and lifted a five-year ban on political activities.

    At the rally, in Luna Park, C.G.T. leader Jose Rucci warned an audience of 15,000 that violence would take hold of the country unless there were general economic and political changes.

    The meeting, called a 'National Re-affirmation's by its organisers - coincided with the 28th anniversary of the military coup which brought Person to power.

    The 75 year-old dictator, ousted by the military in September 1955, now lives in exile in Madrid. His supporters, one of whom is union leader Rucci, still constitute the biggest single political force in Argentina.

    SYNOPSIS: Thousands of workers demonstrated in the streets of Buenos Aires on Friday, and later flocked to a meeting at the Luna Park boxing stadium addressed by leaders of the Argentinian General Confederation of Workers.

    Many of the demonstrators distributed leaflets and carried flags supporting former strongman President Juan Peron, who was ousted by the military in 1955.

    His supporters still constitue the biggest single political force in Argentina.

    Person is now 75, and lives in exile in Madrid.

    This rally was one of the first major ones since President Agustin Lanusse took power in a bloodless military coup last March, and lifted a five-year ban on political activities.

    The Luna Park Meeting coincided with the 28th anniversary of the military coup which brought Person to power.

    The organisers called it a 'National Re-affirmation'.

    Inside the Park itself, there were speeches to be heard from the platform party. General Confederation of Workers leader Jose Rucci said that violence would take hold of the country unless there were general economic and political changes. Rucci is a follower of ex-President Peron.
