  • Description

Before the world motor racing giants took to Britain's Brand's Hatch track on Sunday(March 18) there was a race in lighter vein for charity.

It featured British stars of sport and also a few people famous for leisure activities. Such unlikely racing drivers as Henry Cooper, Britain's famous heavyweight boxer; Mick McManus a professional wrestler and Clement Freud, a sell known cookery expert, competed over 10 laps in Ford Consul GT 3-litre cars.

The race was in aid of SPARKS, the Sportsmen's Charity. Ironically one of the slowest moving sportsmen, round the world yachtsman Chay Blyth, was fastest over this course and was first over the finishing line.
