MICHAELIDES: "As a result of the Turkish aggression 40 per cent of the territory of Cyprus is still occupied by Turkish troops, whose vandalism and desecration is so methodical and so widespread that they have institutionalised the obliteration of everything which has something to do with the lawful inhabitants, now refugees. But why did Turkish invade the island? According to the official Turkish statements, the so-called peace operation claimed to bring peace and stability and to re-state the constitutional order which was upset by the coup."
