    AN INTERNATIONAL WOOL FASHION SHOW, SPONSORED BY THE INTERNATIONAL WOOL SECRETARIAT OF AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND, WAS HELD IN SANKEI INTERNATIONAL HALL, TOKYO, LAST THURSDAY.

    MR. K. C. KLARKE, DIRECTOR OF THE SECRETARIAT, GAVE AN OPENING SPEECH, AND THEN 80 STYLES WERE DISPLAYED BY SOME OF THE TOP MODELS IN JAPAN.

    A CROWD OF 200 FOREIGNERS AND 500 JAPANESE ATTENDED THE SHOW, THE CHARACTERISTIC FEATURE OF WHICH WAS THAT MOST OF THE DRESSES WERE SEVERE IN STYLE, LIKE MILITARY UNIFORMS. THIS STYLE IS SAID TO BE THE POPULAR IN EUROPE, AMERICA AND IN JAPAN AS WELL.

    ALL THE GARMENTS WERE MADE OF WOOL, BUT NOT CONSIDERED EXPENSIVE IN JAPAN.
