    ABOUT 200 YOUNG PEOPLE CARRYING ANTI-AMERICAN BANNERS AND SHOUTING SLOGANS CRITICISING UNITED STATES POLICY DEMONSTRATED IN THE CENTRE OF BRUSSELS AS MR. HUMPHREY CONFERRED WITH BELGIAN PRIME MINISTER, PAUL VANDEN BOEYNANTS SHORTLY AFTER ARRIVING ON THE LAST STAGE OF HIS EUROPEAN TOUR.

    ONE OF THE BANNERS READ "HUMPHREY ASSASSIN" BUT THE PROTEST LASTED ONLY A SHORT TIME AND THERE WERE NO INCIDENTS.

    MR. HUMPHREY TOLD REPORTERS AFTER HIS TWO-HOUR TALKS WITH THE PRIME MINISTER AND FOREIGN MINSTER PIERRE HARMEL THAT IT HAD BEEN "ONE OF THE MOST CORDIAL, HELPFUL AND CO-OPERATIVE MEETINGS I HAVE HAD IN EUROPE."
    THE VICE-PRESIDENT, WHO IS PROLONGING HIS VISIT UNTIL MONDAY MORNING TO PREPARE A REPORT TO PRESIDENT JOHNSON, FLEW TO BELGIUM AFTER A TURBULENT 24-HOURS IN PARIS MARKED BY A SERIES OF LEFT-WING DEMONSTRATIONS AGAINST THE VIETNAM WAR THAT FOLLOWED HIM RIGHT UP TO HIS DEPARTURE.
