  • Description

The Como Automobile Club organized a singular "rallye" and nabed it the "International Gymkana for Ancient Automobiles". This reunion took place at Campione: small town on the Swiss frontier. Only autos built before 1908 could participate in the event. The cars entered also had to be in condition of "moving under their own power".

After the ritual parade the cars were obliged to compete in a special "gymkana" and the winning car was given a prize. The course of the competition was rather difficult and drivers were placed in embarrassing situations.

A good sized crowd looked on, many foreign tourists were present, and the "competition was an hilarious success.
