    THE ZAMBIAN LEADER FLEW INTO NAIROBI FOR A SHORT STOPOVER ON HIS RETURN TO LUSAKA FROM THE EAST-AND-CENTRAL SUMMIT CONFERENCE IN KHARTOUM.

    THE TWO LEADERS MET AT THE STATE HOUSE FOR DISCUSSIONS WHICH CENTRED MAINLY ON MATTERS OF MUTUAL INTEREST.

    PRESIDENT KAUNDA LEFT THE THREE-DAY ANNUAL CONFERENCE A DAY EARLY BECAUSE OF WHAT WAS DESCRIBED AS "PRESSING DOMESTIC COMMITMENTS".

    CERTAIN ASPECTS OF THE CONFERENCE WERE BELIEVED DISCUSSED DURING HIS BRIEF MEETING WITH PRESIDENT KENYATTA.

    THE KENYAN LEADER DID NOT ACCOMPANY PRESIDENT KAUNDA BACK TO NAIROBI AIRPORT, WHERE HE WAS FAREWELLED BY VICE-PRESIDENT MR. MOI AND OTHER SENIOR GOVERNMENT MINISTERS.
