    Karachi held its first public protect against Indo-Pakistan border incidents with a huge rally in the ??? Tar Park on Sunday ( 08 November).

    A crowd of several thousands chanted "we want to live in peace" and "ready to defend Pakistan" as the leader of the United Coalition Party, Nurul Amin, told them that East and West Pakistan should unite to face any external pressures from India.

    He said there was no friction between East and West Pakistan. The events in East Pakistan were a national tragedy which he waged all Pakistanis to forget.

    The rally followed the latest reports of Indian and Pakistan tanks fighting a pitched battle a few miles inside the East Pakistan border.

    SYNOPSIS: Murul Amin, leader of Pakistan's United Coalition Party, arrived at the Mich Tar Park in Karachi, on Sunday to address a public pretest meeting against Indo-Pakistan border incidents.

    The popular coalition leader, who is an East Pakistani, received garlands of flowers as the huge crowd surged around him.

    The rally followed the latest reports of Indian and Pakistan tanks and troops involved in a pitched battle on the East Pakistan side of the border. Clashes acrose the border have increased in frequency rapidly over recent weeks, and both armies have been placed at a state of immediate reediness for action.

    Murul Amin told the crowd that East and West Pakistan should unite to face any threats from India. Events in Cast Pakistan, he said, were a national tragedy that should new be forgotten, and there was no friction between East and West Pakistan. India, he believed, could not hope to win by any means any territorial going in Pakistan. Pakistanis, he emphasised, went to live in peace, but will be ready to defend their country.
