  • Description

    At Rifle Gap in
Colorado on Thursday (10 August), a sculptor named Christo finally finished
hanging a curtain across a canyon. Christo is widely known for wrapping up
things -- such as cliffs, bays and buildings. But hanging a curtain across the
canyon at Rifle Gap wasn't easy. He had been trying on and off for a year or so.

The curtain is 12-hundred feet (366-metres) long and 850 feet (283-metres) high.

The sculptor's wife, Mrs. Christo Javacheff, said the finished product was
exactly as Christo pictured it in his drawings.

On Friday, two thirds of the curtain was blown down.
