Background: A joint Jordanian PLO (Palestine Liberation Organisation) delegation arrived in Algiers last Tuesday (16 October). The delegation was there to met the Algerian President and further contacts with their representatives in Algeria.
SYNOPSIS: The delegation was led by Mr Abou Mazen a member of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation in Jordan and the Jordanian Minister of Information in Charge of West Bank Affairs, Adan Abu-Auda.
The delegation come to Algeria to discuss the situation in southern Lebanon and the latest developments in the Middle East. It also intended to further contact with PLO representative in Algiers. During their brief stay, the delegates were to meet with Algerian President Colonel Bendjedid Chadli and other government officials. The Algerian government is strongly opposed to the Camp David peace accords and has bee pressing for Egyptian President Anwar Sadat's resignation for what it's called his "selling out of the Palestinian cause."
