    AMONG THE FIRST TROOPS TO REINFORCE THE COMMANDER LANDED BY THE AIRCRAFT CARRIED BULWARK ON JULY 1ST. WERE NEW OF THE 24TH INFANTRY BRIGADE, PART OF BRITAIN'S STRATEGIC RESERVE IN KENYA.     A ROYAL MILITARY POLICE UNIT ACCOMPANIED THE TROOPS FORM KENYA AND THEY WERE FIRST TO ARRIVE AT THE AIRPORT IN NAIROBI TO SUPERVISE THE LOADING OF STORES AND EQUIPMENT INTO BEVERLEY TRANSPORT PLANES.

    HAWKER HUNTER FIGHTERS HAVE LEFT THE ROYAL AIR FORCE BASE AT NAIROBI FOR THE RAF BASE AT SHARJAH, NEAR BAHRAIN. THEY WERE JOINED BY EIGHT LONG-RANGE CAMBERRA JET BOMBERS FROM GERMANY.

    A FEW HOURS AFTER THE NEWS THAT BRITISH FORCES WERE IN KUWAIT, IT WAS ANNOUNCED THAT SAUDI ARABIAN TROOPS HAD ALSO ARRIVE. THE RULER OF KUWAIT HAD APPEALED TO KING SAUD OR MILITARY HELP AT THE SAME TIME AS HE APPEALED TO BRITAIN.
