Hanoi, the capital of People's Republic of North Vietnam has 640,000 population which has become the focal center of the world since U.S. started bombing on North Vietnam territories. However, Hanoi is very quiet though the first air raid alarm was sirened on April 4th but, there was no U.S. bombardment on Hanoi.

It is very hot city and 30 degree continues every day over there. In the morning, more than 300,000 people come to their office, factories, schools, market and others by bicycles which are the most popular transportation in Hanoi. A lot of girl workers attend their factories by their own traditional clothes.

Citizen go to the open morning market where they used to buy one day's food, vegetables and fruits which are very crowded every morning. On the other hand, there are no increase of commodities price in Hanoi and they can enjoy steady economics in their daily life Flower shop is popular which is located at the corner of the street and Vietnamese love flowers and they pick up different colorful flowers from the shop. However, the war is going on against U.S.A. and South Vietnam and the official bulletin indicating the fighting is going on in Central and southern part of North Vietnam against U.S. air raids and how many planes they have shot down on the certain districts etc. were publicised for Public. The newspapers cover the result of each day's action and Hanoi radio radiocast from morning till night about their action against U.S.A. and South Vietnam. As U.S.A. bombed over 19th parallel line, almost primary and junior high school pupils are evacuated from Hanoi to suburbed area and it is difficult to see many children and pupils in the town now.

The pupils study hard their subjects who are remained in Hanoi as well before. Some pupils relax at the park after their school. But, we can see a lot of shelters in and around park for possible air raids on Hanoi. Although the citizen of Hanoi enjoy peaceful day even now, training of militia is going on various places such as schools, factories and offices as each unit. According to official communique, North Vietnam has 250,000 army consisting of 15 divisions, 200,000 militia and navy which has 30 gun boats with 2,000 naval crews and 12 companies of air force totalling 300 planes in various type such as fighters, scouting and bombers. :There are three million and fifty thousands students including primary school, junior high and high schools and colleges and there are 10 colleges in North Vietnam right now. All college students were enrolled as militia and now numbers of militia are doubled and trippled.

At the suburb of Hanoi, labourers as well as militia are trained every afternoon as they may be ordered to go the front. They used to shout their slogan " One Hand hammer and the other by gun " " Let us do two men's job by one. There are now Fifteen million and nine hundred and ten thousand people live in North Vietnam more less same population of South Vietnam however, North Vietnam has produced Five million and seven hundred thousands tons of food in 1963 and there are no starvation or want of food in North Vietnam at present. So now North Vietnam citizen will redouble their effort to fight against U.S.A. aggression in every part of their fatherland.
