AMONG INDONESIAN AND CHINESE COMMUNISTS CAUGHT BY THE SECURITY FORCES RECENTLY WAS A MAN SAID TO BE SECOND IN COMMAND OF AN ESTIMATED 2,000 GUERILLAS, MR. SUKOTJO.

    IN PONTIANAK ON WEDNESDAY, INDONESIAN MILITARY POLICE BEGAN INTERROGATING SOME OF THE DETAINED GUERILLAS, INCLUDING MR. SUKOTJO. FROM THEM THEY HAD SEIZED DOCUMENTS, WEAPONS AND BOOKS OF THE THOUGHTS OF MAO TSE-TUNG. FOUR CHINESE GIRLS WERE AMONG THOSE QUESTIONED AT THE PONTIANAK GAOL.

    THE DISTURBANCES WERE SPARKED OFF IN OCTOBER, FOLLOWING INCIDENTS IN WHICH CHINESE GUERILLAS ARE CLAIMED TO HAVE KILLED 25 DAYAK TRIBESMEN. THE DAYAK -- WHO ONLY A GENERATION AGO WERE HEADHUNTERS -- KILLED 80 CHINESE AS REPRISAL.

    THE OFFICIAL ARMED FORCES BULLETIN REPORTED IN DJAKARTA TODAY THAT THREE INDONESIAN SOLDIERS WERE KILLED IN A RECENT HOUR-LONG BATTLE WITH COMMUNIST CHINESE GUERILLAS IN WEST BORNEO. THE BULLETIN DID NOT SAY HOW MANY GUERILLAS WERE KILLED BUT SAID THEY MUST HAVE SUFFERED HEAVY LOSSES.
