TRANSCRIPT: MOTHER TERESA (SEQ 3): "(indistinct) Want of love, want of prayer, without this we cannot have peace and one works with love and one works with peace. The more we share the joy of loving with each other, there will be peace then with one another and love begins at home. The family that prays together and stays together and if they stay together they will love one another and only then can they love others, and much of the disturbance and destroyer of peace today is abortion because abortion is murder by the mother herself." Background: World-famous missionary Mother Teresa arrived in Portugal's capital Lisbon on September 30 for a two-day visit to the country. The 72-year-old nun, who won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work with the poor in India, was greeted at the airport by Senhora Dona Manuel Eanes, wife of the Portuguese president. During her stay in Portugal, Mother Teresa will visit the famous shrine at Fatima, set up at the beginning of the century after three young peasant girls reported that Jesus Christ's mother, Mary, had appeared before them. Mother Teresa, who has recently visited children's missions in the battered Lebanese capital of Beirut, said war was caused by lac of love. She also said that love begins within the family and abortion destroys peace because the mother is murdering her own child. Later this year, the Portuguese parliament will debate a bill on the legislation of abortion in certain cases. After leaving the airport, Mother Teresa went straight to a poor quarter of Lisbon to meet children and young people. She is also scheduled to visit one of her missions recently set up at Setubal, a town to the south of Lisbon.
