    ABOUT 1,000 DEMONSTRATORS CARRYING PLACARDS CONDEMNING RECENT UNITED STATES ACTION AGAINST NORTH VIETNAM PROTESTED OUTSIDE THE U.S.EMBASSY IN LONDON TODAY (SUNDAY).THEY LATER HANDED IN A LETTER.

    MOST OF THE MARCHERS WERE STUDENTS, MANY REPRESENTING ORGANISATIONS CAMPAIGNING FOR UNILATERAL NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT.THERE WAS ALSO A LARGE GROUP FROM THE YOUNG COMMUNIST LEAGUE, WHO HAD EARLIER HAD A MEETING IN HYDE PARK.

    THE DEMONSTRATORS CARRIED PLACARDS CALLING ON THE UNITED STATES TO LEAVE VIETNAM, AND DEMANDING A NEW CONFERENCE TO END THE FIGHTING THERE.

    THE LONG LINE OF MARCHERS WAS ORDERLY, AND THE WAITING POLICE HAD LITTLE TROUBLE EXCEPT WHEN SMALL GROUPS TRIED TO APPROACH THE EMBASSY.LATER A DEPUTATION WAS ALLOWED TO HAND IN THE PROTEST LETTER.
