Background: Jordan's King Hussein arrived in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Saturday (8 May) for a three-day visit and important talks with President Hafez Al-Assad.
Officials say the two men are working very hard "on the completion of economic, military and political integration between their two countries".
Jordanian and Syrian sources have confirmed that "important decisions will be taken" during King Hussein's visit and a joint communique would be issued.
It's the eighth time the two leaders have met in a year.
King Hussein was greeted by a large, cheering crowd at Damascus airport and was met by President Assad and other Syrian officials.
After reviewing a military guard of honour, the two men were driven off for preliminary talks.
Members of the two delegations, including Crown Prince Hassan, the Premier Zeid Al-Rifai and General Zeid Ben Shaker, the commander of the Jordanian armed forces, attended the first talks.
