The Short Range attack Missile (SRAM) (AGM-69A) is an air-to-surface weapon system which will be used by the U.S. Air Force strategic bomber force. it will be launched to its target in either aerodynamic or semiballistic terminal trajectory flightpaths.
With a nuclear warhead, SRAM's range will allow it to be launched at a distance from the target and allow the releasing aircraft to escape from ground defence action.
SRAM is powered by a restartable solid-propellant rocket motor and uses an inertial guidance system. The supersonic missile is being developed by the Boeing Company, and is presently undergoing its development testing by Air Force.
This film shows the SRAM being launched form B-52 Stratofortress at the White Sand Missile Range, New Mexico.
