More than seven thousand people attended the match at the Kenya Hockey Stadium at Nairobi, among them the Pakistan High Commissioner to Kenya, Air Vice Marshal Khyber Khan, who was introduced to players of the two teams before play began.
The 18-man Pakistan team arrived in Nairobi on Friday for a tour of Kenya during which they will play 15 matches in the capital and in Kisumu.
Ash Faq opened the scoring for Pakistan in the 18th minute of the game, and at halftime the score remained 1- 0.
In the 51st minute, Rashid made the score 2 - 0, and the final Pakistan goal was completed after 56 minutes of play.
The second test match between Pakistan and Kenya is scheduled for next Saturday.
