    MR. COBBINA, WHO WAS DEPUTISING FOR MR. J.W.K. HARLEY, THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE AND VICE CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNING NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL, TOLD THE CADETS THAT IF ANY OF THEM THOUGH THAT BY JOINING THE POLICE THEY WOULD ACQUIRE WEALTH THEY SHOULD RESIGN AT ONCE.

    HE SAID THAT THE SIX-MONTH COURSE THEY HAD JUST COMPLETED DID NOT MAKE THE FULLY-PLEDGED POLICEMEN. HE EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS ONLY A FOUNDATION.

    AFTER PRESENTING A BATON TO THE BEST RECRUIT, MR. COBBINA INSPECTED THE PARADE AND WATCHED THE CADETS CARRYING OUT A PROGRAMME OF DRILL MOVEMENTS UNDER THE COMMAND OF SERGEANT-MAJOR KWESI BROWN.
