Heading for their scheduled refueling stop, on Sondre Stromfjord in south-West Greenland, they failed to find the base and wre forced to make an emergency landing. Walking to the base, they were rescued by a group of Eskimos who brought them to the camp. Hassell and Cramer after their rescue pose with the plane, which is seen taking off.
