    Background: Emperor Haile Selassie returned to Ethiopia on Friday (30 June) from a five-day private visit to Yugoslavia as the guest of President Tito.

    Accompanied by his daughter, Princess Tegnane Work, the Emperor was met at Addis Ababa's Bole Airport by his son, Crown Prince Asfa Wossen, Prime Minister Akilu Habte World, and the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Church.

    President Tito and the Emperor held a series of private and official talks, and during his stay, the Emperor was conferred with the Honorary Citizenship of Yugoslavia by the Federal Assembly, and a street was named after him in Belgrade.

    SYNOPSIS: Emperor Haile Selassie returned home to Addis Ababa on Friday from Yugoslavia, where he has been on a five-day private visit as the guest of President Tito. Waiting to greet him at Bole International Airport was a large delegation headed by Crown Prince Merid Azmach Asfa Wossen, the Emperor's 56-year-old eldest son.

    Also waiting to greet the Emperor with the Crown Prince, were the Prime Minister, Aklilu Habte World, the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Church, and high-ranking government officials. (PAUSE) Prior to visiting Yugoslavia, the Emperor also paid official visits to Britain and France, and represented Ethiopia at the Organisation of African Unity summit in Rabat. (PAUSE). During his stay in Yugoslavia, the Emperor held a series of private and official talks with President Tito. The National Assembly also conferred on him the Honorary Citizenship of Yugoslavia, and a street in Belgrade was named after him. (PAUSE). On his tour, he was accompanied by his daughter, Princess Tegnane Work, and his aides.
