    THE DUTCH TEAM WHO ARE TO TAKE PART IN THE 10,000 MILE (16,000 KMS) LONDON TO SYDNEY MOTOR RALLY WERE PRESENTED TO PRINCE BERNHARD OF THE NETHERLANDS IN A CEREMONY AT THE ROYAL PALACE IN THE HAGUE TODAY (TUESDAY). ALSO PARTICIPATING IN THE PRESENTATION CEREMONY WAS THE AUSTRALIAN CHARGE D'AFFAIRES IN HOLLAND, MR. MCCREDIE.

    THE DUTCH TWO-CAR TEAM CONSISTS OF DAVIT V. LEMMEP AND PETER HISSINK IN THE FIRST CAR, AND ROB SLOTEMAKER AND ROB JANSEN IN THE SECOND. BOTH CREWS WILL BE DRIVING DAFs IN THE RALLY.

    IN ADDITION TO THE DRIVERS, THE PRINCE ALSO WELCOMED THE CREW OF THE AIRCRAFT WHICH WILL ACCOMPANY THE CARS DURING THE MARATHON DRIVE.

    AS A PART OF THE CEREMONY, MR. MCCREDIE PRESENTED PRINCE BERNHARD WITH A TOY AUSTRALIAN BEAR.

    BOTH THE PRINCE AND MR. MCCREDIE WISHED THE DRIVERS AND THE AIRCRAFT CREW A GOOD JOURNEY.

    THE LONDON TO SYDNEY RALLY IS ORGANISED BY A BRITISH DAILY NEWSPAPER. THE PRIZE MONEY IS GBP10,000 STERLING. THE MARATHON IS AMONG THE LONGEST EVER UNDERTAKEN AND IS EXPECTED TO CREATE GREAT DEMANDS ON BOTH MEN AND VEHICLES. CLIMATIC VARIATIONS WILL BE SHARP. THE 100 DRIVERS WILL BE STARTING NEXT SUNDAY (NOVEMBER 24) IN THE COLD OF THE EUROPEAN WINTER AND WILL COMPLETE THE RALLY AT THE HEIGHT OF THE AUSTRALIAN SUMMER.
