    AMERICAN, BRITISH AND FRENCH TROOPS WERE GREETED BY SHOUTS OF -- "HO-HO-HO-CHI-MINH" -- AS THEY PARADED IN WEST BERLIN TODAY (SATURDAY) IN THEIR ANNUAL DEMONSTRATION OF ALLIED RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CITY'S SECURITY. THE OCCASION WAS THE FIFTH ARMED FORCES DAY THE CITY HAS SEEN.

    ONLY SMALL GROUPS OF STUDENTS TURNED OUT IN WIND AND HEAVY RAIN TO PROTEST AT AMERICAN INVOLVEMENT IN VIETNAM.

    AS THE PARADE OF 250 TANKS AND MILITARY VEHICLES PASSED WEST BERLIN'S TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, STUDENTS ROARED THE COMMUNIST "INTERNATIONALE" AND THE SOVIET NATIONAL ANTHEM THROUGH MEGAPHONES.

    THERE WERE SOME SLIGHT SCUFFLES AS PASSERS-BY TRIED TO STOP THE STUDENT SHOUTING. NO ONE WAS HURT. PLACARDS READING - "NAPALM FOR FREEDOM" -- AND "CLEAN TANKS" -- DIRTY WAR" - HUNG FROM THE WINDOWS OF A STUDENT UNION OFFICE, BUT A HUGE PAPER VIET CONG FLAG DISINTEGRATED IN THE RAIN BEFORE THE PARADE BEGAN.
