Background: The growing realization that they have a position of importance in the world of commerce has prompted-the Brazilian Government to send their Foreign Minister, Senor Jose de Macedo Soares, on a round trip of their South American neighbours.
This round tour will also be used to confirm and, in some cases,re-establish, friendly relations between the Latin American states.
In Bogota, Colombia, Macedo Soares a signed several trade agreements with the Colombia Government representatives that will very soon increase the mutual trading of these two countries.
After formal greetings at Bogota Airport Senor Macedo Soares laid a wreath at the foot of the Colombian National Memorial. Later he went to the Foreign Office building where his trade talks began.
