    Under the Patronage of President Ahmed Hassan Al-Bakr Iraq today celebrated the annual anniversary of the May Day. H.E. the President deputized Comrade Muhy Abdul Hussein members of the ABSP regional leadership and in charge of its central workers bureau. Over half million workers took part in the celebration which was attended by several RCC workers.

    The workers raised banners hailing the leadership of the party and revolution and its accomplishments in all fields. The workers burnt an effigy of the Egyptian ruler Anwar Sadat and strongly condemned the imperialist - zionist conspiracy and the treasonous settlement treaty signed by the Egyptian ruler an the zionist enemy.

    The Iraqi working class renewed its support for the struggle of the Palestinian Arab people and the Egyptian Unionist Organisations.

    In his address on the occasion, the representatives of President Al-Bakr stressed that our celebrations on the May Day along with the international progressive forces, mark the world peoples aspirations to get rid off all forms of repression, colonialism, partition, unsurption and racial discrimination.

    Later to speak was Mr. Muayad Abdulah Chairman of the General Federation of the Iraqi Trade Unions (GFITU) who said that the Iraqi - Syrian national charter for joint action marked a vital turning point in the history of the Arab nation and an active repulse against the national enemies.
