  • Description

New York's longshoremen's union gave in to State Department requests, May 9, and the men began to unload the U.A.R. cargo vessel, - "Cleopatra".

The "Cleopatra"- which has now left New York - ??? to unload her. They claim this refusal was in retaliation for U.A.R. boycotts on U.S.S.S. ships trading with Israel. The Seamen's International Union claimed the U.A.R. treated its seamen badly in UAR ports, and that the UAR ban of ships with Israel cargoes would rob their members of work.

??? boycott, workers in most United Arab Republic ports refused to unload American merchant ships.
