  • Description

Thousands of people gathered July 17 at Casablanca Stadium, Morocco, to hear Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and other speakers voice their solidarity with the African peoples of the Congo Republic during the present delicate period of the newly independent states transition.

The Crown Prince, Commander in Chief of Moroccan Armed Forces, reminded the multitude of Morocco's own period of strife before the complete re-unification of the country in 1956.

Six hundred highly trained troops of the Royal Moroccan army flew into Leopoldville, July 18, to re-inforce the United Nations force now trying to promote peace between Belgian troops and mutinous factions of the Congolese Force Publique.
