    THE UNITED NATIONS COMMAND YESTERDAY (SATURDAY) PROTESTED TO NORTH KOREA OVER AN ATTACK LAST WEDNESDAY IN WHICH A SOUTH KOREAN ARMY CAPTAIN WAS KILLED AND AN AMERICAN WOUNDED.THE PROTEST WAS MADE BY THE SENIOR U.N.DELEGATE, MAJOR-GENERAL ROBERT SEEDLOCK, AN AMERICAN, TO THE JOINT MILITARY ARMISTICE COMMISSION IN PANMUNJOM.

    HE SAID THE ATTACK, ON A GROUP OF EIGHT SOUTH KOREAN AND U.S.PERSONNEL ON THEIR WAY BACK FROM INSPECTING BORDER MARKERS, WAS AN "ACT OF MURDER." HE DEMANDED A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION OF THE INCIDENT AND THE PUNISHMENT OF THOSE RESPONSIBLE.

    HIS NORTH KOREAN COUNTERPART, MAJOR-GENERAL CHUNG HWAN CHANG, SAID NORTH KOREANS WERE NOT INVOLVED IN THE SKIRMISH.THE U.N.CHARGE WAS "A MERE FABRICATION," HE ADDED.

    THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE NORTH OF THE HAN RIVER.A SMALL BOAT SENT TO EVACUATE THE EIGHT MEN WAS ALSO FIRED ON AND HAD TO BE ABANDONED, ACCORDING TO THE U.N.COMMAND.A BOAT SIMILAR TO THE ABANDONED ONE WAS EXHIBITED AT THE MEETING OF THE COMMISSION.
