Background: The sixth Racing and Sporting Motor-Cycle Show opened at the Royal Horticultural Society's Halls, in London on Saturday (4 January).
Motor-cycle racing probably offers speed enthusiasts the most economical opportunity to practice their skills in these days of rising fuel prices and economy measures.
There was a wide range of bikes on display - everything in fact from tiny 49cc mopeds specifically designed for teenagers to giants like the 900cc Kawasaki.
The show has a truly international flavour - with exhibits from Germany, Austria, Japan, Czechoslovakia and other countries as well as the United Kingdom. Motor-cycling enthusiasts also travel from all over Europe to visit the exhibition and are as pleased to meet star racing cyclists as they are to see the latest sporting machinery.
