Background: Hollywood actor Lee Marvin was ordered to pay 104,000 dollars to Michalle Triola Marvin the singer who lived with him outside of Matrimony for six years. The supreme court upheld Miss Marvin's breach of contract suit, but ruled that a valid contract was not in evidence between the two participants. Both sides claimed a victory of sorts: With Lee Marvin stating that the fact that the judge ruled a no contract between the couple, meant victory, while the dash award to Miss Triola meant a win of her case.
