TRANSCRIPT: INTERVIEWER: JACK, CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING THE 1966 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. I'M SURE THE FIRST THING THAT OUR AUSTRALIAN VIEWERS WANT TO KNOW IS WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GET A CHANCE TO SEE YOU IN ACTION?

BRABHAM: WELL, I'LL BE OUT THERE IN FEBRUARY AND I'LL BE DOING A SERIES OF FOUR RACES, POSSIBLY FIVE.

INTERVIEWER: WHERE WILL YOU BE RACING?

BRABHAM: I'LL BE RUNNING AT WARWICK FARM FIRST...NO ACTUALLY WE'RE GOING TO QUEENSLAND FIRST...WE'RE GOING TO LAKESIDE FIRST, THEN TO WARWICK FARM. THEN SANDOWN, AND LONGFORD AND POSSIBLY BACK UP TO SURFER'S PARADISE. THAT WILL TAKE US THROUGH UNTIL ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF MARCH.

INTERVIEWER: THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR SEASON THIS YEAR HAS BEEN YOUR PARTNERSHIP WITH DENY HULME (DENNIS HULME) OF NEW ZEALAND. DO YOU ENVISAGE YOUR PARTNERSHIP GOING ON NEXT YEAR?

BRABHAM: I CAN'T CONFIRM THAT BUT I REALLY DO THINK SO.

INTERVIEWER: WHO DO YOU FEEL IS YOUR STRONGEST CHALLENGE NEXT YEAR?

BRABHAM: I WOULD SAY JIM CLARK WOULD PROBABLY BE THE BIGGEST THREAT NEXT YEAR BECAUSE THE NEW FORD ENGINE IS BEING BUILT ON SIMILAR LINES TO OUR OWN AS FAR AS WEIGHT AND SIZE IS CONCERNED. JIM CLARK IS THE WORLD'S....OF COURSE AND IS THE OPPOSITION BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO GIVE US OPPOSITION AS WELL... SUCH A DAN GURNEY'S TEAM. THIS PARTICULAR CAR LOOKS VERY GOOD.

INTERVIEWER: JACK, YOU'VE WON THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, YOU'VE WON THEM ALL IN FORMULA TWO AND YOU'VE STARTED WALKING AWAY WITH FORMULA THREE AND MOST PEOPLE WOULD SAY 'WELL FOLLOW THAT' WELL, HOW ARE YOU GOING TO FOLLOW THAT?

BRABHAM: WELL, WE'RE GOING TO TRY AND ACHIEVE THE SAME RESULT AGAIN IF WE CAN NEXT YEAR. A LOT OF PEOPLE THOUGHT IT WAS PROBABLY A FLUKE THIS YEAR SO WE'RE GOING TO TRY AND MAKE SURE OF IT AND DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

INTERVIEWER: FANGIO RETIRED AT 47 WITH FIVE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS UNDER HIS BELT. ARE YOU GOING TO TRY AND BEAT HIM?

BRABHAM: NO! THIS ISN'T ANY AMBITION OF MINE AT ALL ACTUALLY. I ENJOY WINNING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, MIND YOU, BUT I NEVER LOOK AT THAT A BEING A GOAL.

INTERVIEWER: BUT YOU'RE NOT THINKING OF RETIRING FOR SOME TIME YET?

BRABHAM: NO. I DON'T INTEND RETIRING BEFORE NEXT YEAR ANYWAY.

    INTERVIEWER: THANK YOU JACK.
