Background: In Seoul, a North Korean delegation has been having talks with South Korea about improving relations between the two halves of the divided country.
The two delegations jointly formed the North-South Coordinating Committee, set up last July to pave the way for reunification of Korea.
The leader of the northern delegation, Mr. Park Sung-Chul, said on arrival in South Korea: "I firmly believe that our talks would contribute to the unification of our fatherland with out own independent efforts."
The Seoul meeting was the third held by the North-South Coordinating Committee. The previous meetings were held in the northern capital, Pyongyang, and at Panmunjom.
