    The fourth "International Week" seminar on African problems was being held in Yaounde, Cameroun, this week. The seven-day seminar, which opened on Monday (September 16), was being attended by experts in politics, economics, diplomacy and political organisation from several African nations, Great Britain, the Soviet Union, the United States of America, Indian, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Canada, France, Norway and Switzerland.

    The principal theme of the seminar was the economic, cultural and political self-determination of Africa -- strengthening the continent as a self-entity.

    SYNOPSIS: Delegates from several African nations and form North America, Europe, Asia and Untied Nations were in Yaunde, capital of Cameroun, this week for the fourth "International Week" seminar on African problems. The delegates at the week-long seminar, which began last Monday, were experts in economics, social affairs, politics and diplomacy. The conference was opened by Cameroun's Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Zachee Mongo Soo, who talked about the need for greater unity in Africa and a "new bond" among Africans.

    Another speaker on opening day was a representative form the European-based Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Mr. Dietrich Kappeler. The Main theme of the conference was greater economic political and cultural self-determination in Africa -- a strengthening of the continent as a self-entity. Mr. kappeler said it was now time to see whether Africa was ready for the sort of organisation which could lead it to self-determination.
