Background: Addressing a gathering of about 400 leaders of Egyptian women's organization in Cairo today (Friday), President Anwar Sadat accused the United States of supporting the Israeli occupation of Arab territories, and added that Egypt was determined to continue the fight to liberate its lands "whatever the sacrifices". The President was accompanied by his wife, Mme. Jihan Sadat.

The meeting with the women leaders was President Sadat's third with prominent Egyptians in a week -- and comes amid growing rumours of his impending visit to Moscow. Although there is no official confirmation that the President would go to the Soviet capital, well-informed sources are reported as saying that he would go before his scheduled visits to Libya and Algeria at the end of April. If he does, the trip will also precede U.S. President Nixon's visit to Moscow next month.
