    CONVERGING ON THE CITY CENTRE FROM ALL DIRECTIONS, THE DEMONSTRATORS HEARD STUDENT LEADERS TALK OF THE LATE REVOLUTIONARY LEADER CHE GUEVARA. THEY GAVE THE GOVERNMENT THIRTY DAYS TO DEFINE ITS POLICY ON "IMPERIALISM". WHAT THE ULTIMATUM WOULD BE WAS NOT MENTIONED.

    POLICE KEPT A CLOSE WATCH ON THE STUDENTS, MAKING IT CLEAR THEY WOULD NOT HESITATE AT MOVING IN IF THE MEETING GOT OUT OF HAND. AS IT HAPPENED, THERE WAS ONLY ONE BRIEF CONFRONTATION.
