    MORE THAN 400 VILLAGERS HAVE QUIT THEIR HOMES IN A VIETCONG CONTROLLED AREA TO FLEE BEHIND THE LINES OF SOUTH KOREAN TROOPS, ACCORDING TO REPORTS FROM VIETNAM.

    THE REFUGEES FLED TO AN AREA NEAR AN-QUANG WHICH IS CONTROLLED BY SOUTH KOREAN TROOPS, MEMBERS OF THE 26TH TIGER DIVISION.

    THEY WERE MEMBERS OF 101 FAMILIES, TOTALLING 484 PEOPLE. THEY ESCAPED FROM THE VILLAGE BY FISHING BOAT FROM THE PENINSULA TO THE MAINLAND. PART OF THE TIME THEY WERE UNDER HEAVY FIRE FROM THE VIETCONG. THEY ALSO HAD TO FACE CROSSFIRE BETWEEN THE SOUTH KOREANS AND THE VIETCONG.
