  • Description

BOURKE Street Police barracks ...brilliant sunshine and a Monday morning rendezvous which brings together in friendly rivalry a group of men from two nations -- SYDNEY police and visitors from the AMERICAN warships now in SYDNEY. There were no serious differences between them, but they said it with pistols. That's Lieutenant McCAULIFFE and Constable Kevin BROWN making their impression on the target about twenty five yards away. The contest -- on the police instruction range -- was their second meeting. The visitors had a narrow win by thirteen points last Saturday.

Opposing the AMERICANS was a team from the Police Pistol Club, and today saw another close win for the sailors. Here's how it all ended...once again only a few points separated them on the score board at the REDFERN barracks.

Net results was a pleasant get-together with friendships made on both sides of the Pacific.
