    AAGE BIRCH OF DENMARK IN CHOK WAS SECOND AND ROBERT MOSBACHER (USA) WAS THIRD. OTHER COUNTRIES WHOSE YACHTS WERE PLACED IN THE UPPER HALF WERE AUSTRALIA, CANADA, SWEDEN AND THE U.K.

    THE SIX-DAY COMPETITION BEGAN ON 28 JULY. ALL PARTICIPATING YACHTS SAILED A DAILY RACE. PARTICIPANTS WERE DIVIDED INTO FOUR GROUPS, AND THERE WERE TWO DAILY STARTS. YACHTS IN EACH GROUP RACED TWICE AGAINST EACH OF THE OTHER GROUPS.
