Background: Self-styled President Moise Tshombe of the breakaway province of Katanga, was interviewed by a VISNEWS cameraman, Aug 3, in his capital Elizabethville. Three questions were put to the President:
Due to the unstable situation in Katanga and Premier Tshombe's threat to resist with force any attempt by United Nations troops to enter Katanga, Dr. Ralph Bunche, UN Under-Secretary General left Leopoldville, Aug 4, for Elizabethville, a day earlier than planned. His trip did not affect the plan for the UNO forces to enter Katanga on Aug 6, a United Nations spokesman said.
