    Newsfilm from Turkey - rare since the Army's swift coup on May 27 - shown friendly reaction in the town of Adapazari - northwest Turkey, between Istanbul and Ankara, - to the new regime.

    The town was the scene May 31 of a big demonstration in support of General Gursel, Turkey's new Head of State and leader of the coup.

    Students - their colleagues in Ankara and Istanbul were among the most active demonstrators against the old regime - cheered the Army and the new Governor General for the region. Townsfolk joined in, and buses brought jubilant country people from the surrounding district to take part in the celebrations.
