    Sound Effects. Semi view Knox speaking: "Incomparably, this will be the greatest sea power with air power auxiliary ever created by any nation in the history of the world. The American Navy will provide protection as adequate as we can make it for the ships of every flag carrying lend-air supplies between the American continent and the waters adjacent to Iceland". (Applause) The Navy is ordered to capture or destroy by every means at their disposal, Axis-controlled submarines or surface raiders encountered in those waters." (Applause) "That is our answer to Mr. Hitler." (Applause).

Semi close up Bob Hope speaking "I must admit I am a little nervous in front of a gathering like this because it is really a kick and my mother would love to have seen it because when I was just a boy she said that some day I might be President but I am satisfied with President Roosevelt and I think my children will be too. (Applause).

    Semi close up Bob Hope "I flew here by 'plane. We had a wonderful trip...my stomach gets here to-morrow." (Laughter).

    Semi view Bob Hope talking "I do want to say that I am very happy to be here with out host Commander Waters because he is also from Ohio, he is from one of the smaller towns, I am from Cleveland but he is a grand fellow. I was up in his suite preparing a programme with him and he is a grand host. He gave me a cocktail up there - he calls it the Legion cocktail - One drink and you give the hotel 24 hours to get out of your room (Laughter).

    Long view Bob Hope talking "They are getting a bigger thrill out of this... When I was a little younger - I do remember those days. I remember the Liberty Loans very well. Those were the days when the Government asked you for it." (Laughter).
