    Background: At the Conference of Islamic Foreign Ministers, in Jeddah on Wednesday (1 March), consideration was given to the sending of a special delegation to Dacca and Islamabad in an attempt to resolve the dispute between Bangladesh and Pakistan. The conference agenda also included Middle Eastern affairs and discussion on the solidarity of countries participating in the conference and African countries "struggling against imperialism and racial discrimination". During the afternoon session there was particular criticism of Israel's "expansionist" policies by the Lebanese and Jordanian Foreign Ministers. Other topics approved for discussion included "the Judaisation of Jerusalem", and the establishment of an International islamic Bank and News Agency. The conference elected a special committee to follow up issues raised. The conference is being Chaired by Mr. Omar Sakkaf of Saudi Arabia....the Secretary-General is Tunku Abdul Rahman, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia.

    The conference session was held behind closed doors...no journalists were permitted entry....but official press releases traced the topics covered on the agenda.

    Consideration was given to sending a delegation to Dacca and Islamabad in an attempt to resolve the dispute between Bangladesh and Pakistan. Israel's expansionist policies were criticised, and discussion held on the formation of an International Islamic Bank and News Agency.
