    MR. CHOU EN-LAI, THE CHINESE PRIME MINISTER, ON TUESDAY PAID HOMAGE IN PORT SAID TO WHAT HE CALLED "THE IMMORTAL GREAT MARTYRS OF IMPERIALISM." HE WAS SPEAKING ABOUT EGYPTIANS KILLED DURING THE 1956 SUEZ FIGHTING. AT THE BASE OF THE 150 FT. (45 METRES) HIGH MARBLE MEMORIAL HE PLACED A WREATH.

    HIS VISIT TO PORT SAID WAS MADE ON THE FOURTH DAY OF HIS PLANNED WEEK LONG STAY IN THE UNITED ARAB REPUBLIC. HE WAS ACCOMPANIED BY MR. ALY SABRY, CHAIRMAN OF THE U.A.R.'S EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND EMAD ED DIN ROUSHDI, THE GOVERNOR OF THE PORT.

    MR. CHOU WAS WARMLY WELCOMED BY CROWDS WHO LINED THE ROUTE FROM THE AIRPORT. IN THE CITY HE WAS CONDUCTED AROUND THE MUSEUM WHICH TRACES THE HISTORY OF THE SUEZ CANAL AND DISPLAYS PHOTOGRAPHS OF PORT SAID DURING AND AFTER THE SUEZ CAMPAIGN.

    LATER HE VISITED THE OFFICES OF THE SUEZ CANAL AUTHORITY AND MADE A LAUNCH TRIP DOWN THE HARBOUR. PORT WORKERS CHEERED HIM. IN THE VISITORS' BOOK AT THE MUSEUM HE PENNED THE FOLLOWING WORDS: "I AM HAPPY TO SEE THAT EGYPT, UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF PRESIDENT NASSER, HAS ON THE RUBBLE OF IMPERIALIST DESTRUCTION REBUILT AN EVEN GREATER AND MORE BEAUTIFUL CITY."
