    The Indian Secretary to the Finance Ministry, Mr. M.G. Kaul, went to West Germany on Tuesday (28 May), apparently is assure the West German government that its aid to India was not being used to develop nuclear weapons.

    On Tuesday, Mr. Kaul had talks at the Ministry for Economic Cooperation in Bonn with the Minister for Development Aid, Dr. Erhard Epaler. They discussed India's first nuclear test explosion, which ??? the world earlier this month. The Indian Prime Minister, Mrs. Gandhi, insisted the explosion was part of the country's normal ??? research, and that India was firmly committed to the peaceful ??? of atomic energy.
