  • Description

Vienna airport is one of the many airports in the world which will be affected if airline pilots go ahead with their threatened 24 hour stoppage on Monday (19 June) in protest against hijacking and other incidents involving airliners. Already, routine at the airport has been altered because of the violence. Security is stopped up whenever an aircraft belonging to the Israeli airline, El Al, lands at Vienna.

Due to the possibility of a world wide strike by airline pilots, scheduled for Monday June 19, Visnews includes this story with the suggestion that it be held in order to bridge the gap of available news film which may result from lack of flights.

SYNOPSIS: Already, measures have been taken at airports throughout the world to combat the violence. And often, what looks like normal airport routine, is in reality far from normal.

At Vienna, the most stringent security measures are reserved for the arrival of flights operated by the Israeli airline, El Al, which has been a prime target for air terrorists.
