    Background: The Foreign Minister of the Sudan, Farouk Abu Eisa, is on tour of East and West Europe for meetings with Sudanese ambassadors. During the visits he is briefing his country's diplomatic representatives on recent political developments in the Middle East; planning means of combating anti-Sudan propaganda in Western Europe; and discussing the progress and implementation of trade agreements signed between the Sudan and East European countries.

    During his stay in London he gave a press conference and made statements in both English and Arabic on the situation in his country and the Middle East in General, including the claim that israel was training and arming rebels in Southern Sudan.
