    SATURDAY WAS "CANADA DAY" AND "INDONESIA DAY" AT THE FIRST ASIAN INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR, CURRENTLY BEING HELD IN BANGKOK. NUMEROUS NATIONS ARE REPRESENTED AT THE FAIR AND THE TOTAL ATTENDANCE IS EXPECTED TO BE MORE THAN A MILLION.

    SATURDAY BEGAN WITH A FLAG-RAISING CEREMONY. CANADA'S AMBASSADOR TO THAILAND, MR. B.C. BUTLER RAISED THE RED AND WHITE MAPLE-LEAF FLAG OF CANADA.

    THIS SIMPLE CEREMONY WAS FOLLOWED BY THE RAISING OF THE INDONESIAN FLAG BY MR. ROESIAN BABOE, THE INDONESIAN CHARGE D'AFFAIRES. LARGE CROWDS WATCHED BOTH CEREMONIES.

    INDONESIA AND CANADA ARE REPRESENTED IN THE HALL OF NATIONS. INDONESIA IS SHOWING BATIK CLOTH, CARPETS, AND A GREAT RANGE OF TINNED FOODSTUFFS.

    THE CANADIAN STAND CONCENTRATES MAINLY ON TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT SHOWING ELECTRONICS AND INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY.

    THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR CLOSES ON THE 10TH OF THIS MONTH.
